I can hear the birds outside my window.
I can hear my mouse (computer). I thought my mouse was silent.
I can hear the background rhythms of the music on the car radio.
I can hear my doorbell even with my head in an upstairs cupboard.
And, you were right! Two hearing aids are noticeably better than one.

Thanks so much for your caring and your help. When I lost one, I wasn't bothering with the single I had left.

Holy Cow!
It's a whole new world!!!

Today's been a day of observations:

Andreas and I were able to actually have a mini conversation between rooms in the house today, something that hasn't happened for about ten years. I could "chat" with him from the porch while he got into the car to go to the game this evening. I'm not sure if we've ever been able to do that, but it's definitely been so long that I can't remember. I could hear sirens in the distance. I heard the music at the store in the mall. I heard my phone buzzing on the table, the microwave beeping, and the planes overhead. The directionality component works like a charm, as does the noise compression. Incredible.

I've also noticed that sometimes I enjoy a quiet world. The keys in the door, the slamming of the screen, my footsteps on the lino, the humming of the fridge, the dripping of the last few drops of water down the sink, and the clicking of the keyboard as I type right now seems very loud indeed. I'm tempted to take the aids out just to get some peace.

But no way. Not yet.

So far, so amazing... just thought I'd let you know.

I'm looking forward to work tomorrow.

For over 50 years, I've suffered from severe hearing loss. I've been to countless Hearing Aid practitioners and tried several kinds of hearing aids, but nothing seemed to work as well as I'd hoped. I decided to see Tim Goshulak at Living Sounds Hearing Centre. The service I received was excellent. After assessing my needs, he recommended the new Oticon-Epoq hearing aid. It's been great. I haven't been able to hear this well in years. I'm still amazed at what a difference this hearing aid has made in my life.
